We are a group of Telford & Wrekin's older citizens who meet together on a regular basis to discuss issues that are of current concern to older people in the borough and decide on appropriate follow up action.

We intend to inform government departments, the local council, the Primary Care Trust, social services and other service providers in the Telford area of the needs of older people in the area. We will also provide feedback to those organisations from our members who have experience of the service they provided.

We have a committee, elected annually, which meets once a month to manage the Forum business. List of committee members All members are invited to the public Forum meetings once a quarter where they can air any issues, question the speakers taking part and get help and advice from the many local organisations which have a stall.

The Forum is sub-divided into Action Groups for 'Health', 'Environment' and 'Transport' and these groups have members who do not serve on the management committee. If you would like to take part in the work of these groups please contact Kester Black on 01952 582931.

At the time of writing we have 1200 members (the more we have the more effective is our lobbying power) and we are becoming an important part of the consultation process for the local council, Primary Care Trust and other local organisations.
